Anderson. A prequel to the original Dune, this story follows the evolution of the Rossak Sisterhood into the Bene Gesserit. The incident with Valya Harkonnen using her voice comes from someone called the “Mentats of Dune.” The Sisterhood, Mentats, Navigators, and Suk Doctors intertwine throughout all three books. Mentioned in the book Crazy Cartoon Cast: The New Normal (2020) by AniMat. I wanted to be brief and to the point, but I felt compelled to elaborate. So here we go. There was a time when writers could weave exposition into the narrative without it feeling forced or artificial. I understand that this is the first episode, but do they have to explain everything as if it wasn’t common knowledge? Watson (Valya), Mark Strong (Emperor), Travis Fimmel (Hart) and Sarah-Sofie Boussnina (Princess) all did well. I feel like the show is in good hands. The rest of the characters didn’t really interest me. They advance the story but are easy to forget. I guess we’ll see how it develops. I had a hard time focusing on the first episode. It felt like it was part of a whole that couldn’t be broken up. I’ll wait for the full season before watching more episodes. They did a great job visually. The CGI quality is high, the costumes are perfect and the mood of Villeneuve’s vision is maintained and even expanded. The art department should win awards for how beautiful it looks.
